Preparing for Emergencies in the Home
The best way to prepare for emergencies is to take measures to
prevent them.  

1.   Have the phone numbers ready.
a.  Fire Department
b.  Ambulance
c.  Hospital Emergency Rool
d.  Family Doctor
e.  Relative who can babysit the kids
f.   Poison Control

2.   Have the following supplies
a.  First Aid Kit
b.  Maps to nearest storm shelters
c.  Emergency radio
d.  enough food and water for at least 3 days for your family.

3.  Practice and Plan with your children on a regular schedule
(every two months).
a.  Fire drills
b.  Emergency calls, use of 911
c.  Evacuation procedures
d.  Child gets hurt
e.  Child swallows something bad.
f.   Stranger approaches, knocks on the door, etc.

4.  Don't let your gas tank get less than half full, in case you have
to drive to the hospital.

5.   For bad weather, potential hurricane or tornado, have a small
bag packed for each child any yourself.
