Helping your Child in a Divorce
In General
1. Talk to your child frequently, let them express feelings.
2. Make sure that they know that it is not their fault.
3. Let them know that acting out is not acceptable
4. Talk to your Ex about how you want to handle behavior
problems. You may not agree, but it is best that you are
consistent there.
5. Avoid saying bad things about your Ex in front of the children.
6. Settle temporary custody issues for the children until the
divorce is complete. This will reduce uncertainly and anxiety.
